There is nothing like a good sandwich!

I just love making a really good sandwich. I am always trying to find new and tasty combinations for sandwiches. Here is one I made this Saturday. I needed to feed Jos something really good since he start painting the front of our house. We changed the door colors, by the way, and I will share photos this week.

This is an oven toasted ciabatta with tomato paste spread on the bottom which I salt and peppered to taste. I then added two slices of raw Italian ham, a few fresh basil leaves and chopped spring onion. I placed some mozzarella over this and grilled it just to let the cheese start to melt.

Do you have a special sandwich combination you love? I would love to see it on your blog!

Hummmmmmmmmmm, I am not so sure I would like this one. I am not a cheese fan. Of course, I had to ask you what the blobby stuff was.
hahahaha.
Love you , Mom
PS: Now I have to finish Eric's sweater, I am on the neck and he is in Ohio and on the way to Canton.
Love you, Mom

Heidi,
That sounds delicious!! Being Italian, we grew up eating sandwiches like that. Kids were taking PB&J to school and we were getting capicola (the real stuff, not the hot ham!) and aged provolone.

Take a ciabatta roll, slices of capicola and proscuitto, aged provolone, roasted red peppers and a little hot pepper relish - OMG! YUM YUM YUM!!

Love,
Julie

Looks delicious, Heidi! I'm rather lazy at preparing lunches because it's usually just me. Can't wait to see what colour you've chosen for your doors! ~ hugs, Lynda xo

Wow, what a tempting delicious sounding sandwich. My sister must be one of the world's most exciting sandwich makers. She can never decide what filling she wants, so she tends to put a different filling in each corner. It's always such an experience eating one of her creations. She puts it down to be a Gemini and not being able to make up her mind :>)
Hugs, Angela
PS Love Julie's sandwich too!

That is one delicious looking sandwich! My favorite sandwich is BLT's. There's nothing better than using a tomato freshly picked from your garden.

Thanks for stopping by to see me. Where in PA did your relatives live? I'm in southwestern PA. Lived here all of my life (42 years to be exact!).

I have no idea why you can't enlarge the pictures on my blog. Where you able to find out what a pipberry is? I just love pipberry garland, candle rings, etc. Sometimes I think I get a little carried away with it though.

Ok, I like this! Our family loves to try to make sandwiches exciting! The most exciting sandwich I ever had growing up was fried bologna, so I look forward to expanding my children's opinion on sandwiches. :) I will take this challenge!
