A walk in the woods.....

Here are some impressions of our walk in the woods on Saturday late afternoon. We gathered some chestnuts to roast and I photographed a good number of toadstools. Here are just a few.

"October's the month
When the smallest breeze
Gives us a shower
Of autumn leaves.
Bonfires and pumpkins,
Leaves sailing down -
October is red
And golden and brown."

We enjoyed a crisp and sunny weekend here in Holland. I hope your weekend was truely wonderful!

Oh how I love walking through the woods and treasure hunting! Your pics are wonderful!!

In response to your comment, you guys drive like we do and then some knucklehead moves in from the right. Amazing that there are such bad drivers all over the world. If they would just slow down! Once they pass, you will often times end up next them up the road.

Have a great Sunday!

xo,

Becky

First of all, I love the signature.
I need these photos sent to me on email if you want them included in your second cottage scrapbook. I
am planning to work on it soon. My sewing room will be cooler when the 80 degree marks get out of our weather.
Love you, Mom

My goodnes, you have the most beautiful toadstools there! I always enjoy seeing your wonderful photos. There is nothing more wonderful than a walk in the woods! Did you write the verse? It's lovely and descriptive! Blessings!

It has been so stinking hot around here I'm thinking I may pay you a visit for a while. It should not be 90 degrees in October.

So, I haven't had a chance to go out exploring. But in the meantime I'll live vicariously through you!

Love,
Julie

Wow heidi, imagine coming across such natural treasures on a walk. Your pictures look straight out of a field guide to toadstools. We have a few very small fawn coloured ones but they disappear so quickly. Toadstools really are magical, aren't they :>)

Hello Heidi,
Love your pictures...we enjoy walking in the woods, too!

Thank you for your comment on my blog about my redecorating. I really do enjoy giving things another look.

Would you believe there were two other glass items in the bag along with the calico pitcher? They didn't break. The pitcher was my favorite find of the day and I didn't have the heart to throw it away.

I have a picture of my dad in mind that I'm going to use for the other frame that matches the one with my mom's picture in it. He was pretty young, too.

I see that you are using the "mylivessignature" on your blog. Don't you just love the look?

Take care,
Kim

You must have the most toadstools anywhere, Heidi! I've honestly never seen so many. They're really beautiful ~ especially the last one. I'm envious of your crisp Autumn weather ... it's so hot and humid today that I had to turn on the a/c! ~ hugs, Lynda xo

I'm racing to catch up Heidi - thanks for the info. on the Country Diary DVD - will try to get it later. Fancy your niece being in Fayetteville - small world!
Loved the walk in your woods - wish I could have been there to see those toadstools. I'm hoping to walk in some English woods - for some reason I feel at home in them (lovely childhood memories) but find American woods somewhat scary because of the biting bugs and posionous snakes such as Copperheads.
Needless to say time is getting short and lots to do this week. I had Grand Jury duty from 9-3 today so this one is wasted. Tonight however we will relax and watch the last episodes of the Brit TV series "Wish Me Luck". We've enjoyed this WW2 film set in Southern England, London and France.
As for packing - I dislike intensely and despite so much travel in the past 45 yrs. I still am hopeless because I can't just pack a few things - I want to take everything!! Of course that's impossible and this trip I'm limited to one suitcase and a small carry on, we just cannot handle a load of luggage any longer. So, the next few days I'll be checking Devon weather and getting everything together.
I'll try to post a few things this week and will check back with you.
