Bird song.....

I value my garden more for being full of blackbirds than of cherries, and very frankly give them fruit for their songs.

~~ Joseph Addison, The Spectator, 1712 ~~

At this time of year, I can sit for hours listening to bird song or watching mother birds feed their young. It is so fun to watch them perch on our pergola waiting all a flutter for mother bird to pass them a tasty seed from the feeders. What better way to relax and enjoy the warmth of a spring day?

I still use some of my eggs for decorating although many have been stored away after the Easter/spring decorations have gone. A tray with a few choice items including a yellow bowl filled with eggs brings us in mind of the happy time of mothering for birds in the month of May.

A bird does not sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a song.

Hi Heidi
I could sit and watch the birds all day too. Our feeder in the backyard is always busy with activity.
You nave such a talent for arranging things. The little vignette with the eggs is so beautiful, simple and yet elegant.
I've tagged you. Hope you don't mind. If you've already been tagged then please just ignore mine.
Hope youhave lotsof time enjoying the birds today.
Hugs, Rhondi

Hello Heidi. Birdsong at this time of the year has to be one of the best treats around. We went for a beautiful walk in the countryside today and the birds were all singing so loudly, you could tell just how happy they were

Your pretty bowl with eggs is lovely - I always love bowls to hold precious things, they just seem so pure for some reason.

Wish we could each spend time in one another's gardens Heidi - sitting under your wisteria would be lovely, and then lounging in the gazebo here - both places we could enjoy just relaxing and listening to the birdsongs......and I'm ready for some relaxation that's for sure!!

Hope your week is going well dear.

There is nothing sweeter than the sound of birdsong in spring when they are all busy nesting and fledging.

Enjoy your weekend Heidi
