This is how we start our day together ~ Dagi and I. I love to begin the day with a very long hot bath and a good book. I think it is so relaxing to read in the bathtub! Do you ever do that yourself? Dagi loves this time too. He sits in the bathroom meowing rather impatiently for me to lay my pajamas on the toilet seat so he can keep an eye on things and have a nap. I think he does more of the later than the former. *grins*
So speaking of books...this is one of my two new vintage books I just received this week. As you may recall, I love vintage books with red covers. I bought this from an English eBay bookseller.
"Thy Servant A Dog" is written by Rudyard Kipling. It is written as if his family dog Boots is telling the story.
I am looking forward to reading this story but am also thrilled with beautiful black and white illustrations in the book.
There are a couple of nice drawings of hunt scenes. I guess this was the right choice to go with my English hunt prints hanging in my living room?
The second book is something very special. I will share that one with you in another post.

That Dagi is one very cool cat. As you know, I adore books of all kinds, but vintage books are definitely my favorite. Kipling is a great author & I love those black and white illustrations.
Hunting? Did you say hunting? Now we're talkin'!!!

Love the colors of those books! So pretty.
Forgot...sweet kitty too!
I do enjoy reading in the tub, but don't get to do it too often. I usually reserve it for those long winter nights. Funny thing - my cat, Callie, loves to "take a shower" with me - she sits on the toilet seat, just like your kitty does. Maybe she just likes my singing!
My cats love it too when I am in the bath, they sit by the bath patiently waiting for me to get out, snoozing on the bath mat! Love the book

I loved this post, Heidi! May I assume the dog lives since he is the narrator? ;<) Have you ever read Buster's Diaries?
Funny how cats like to follow to the bathroom, mine usually lie on the towels at the side of the bath when i'm there.
Love the old books, i recently picked up Jane Austin's Emma at a local charity shop, it's a lovely little book and was once someones Sundy School prize back in the 1950's, how could anyone get rid of that? beats me.

How funny, Dagi on the toilet! (Giggle ...) Maybe Fietje will do this one day, we'll see ...
Hugs, Carolien
P.S. Sorry, I'm a shower type, always ready in 10 minutes, very boring. I don't have the patience to stay in bath for long, even with a book. I tried!
P.P.S. Thom and Caroline like it though! I put them into our 'big bath' today and they enjoyed themselves very much. They don't have a bath at home, so ... splash, splash, splash! Fun.
Hugs, Nanny Carolien
Look at Dagi...that is sooo funny! Those books are lovely...nice way to spend the day :o) Happy weekend, Heidi ((HUGS))
Heidi,
When my cat Lacey Gracie Sue was alive, she used to lay in the bathroom on my husband's towel - while he soaked in the tub. When he was ready to get out and needed his towel, she would yell at him loudly, refusing to get off - it was quite comical! I miss hearing her yell....

Ohhhhhhhhh that cat. S P O I L E D
Your new book looks very nice. We ae sitting watching Mary Poppins and your favorite nanny just flew away and I told Zoe who she was. We have bulldozers on the beach. Hope they will not work all weekend. Zoe named a snowman, so I had to change one, and Mandie posted a blog entry.
Love you, Mom
I need a cat.
I LOVE to read in the tub, and I would love it even more if I had a furry friend to keep me company.
Love the look of your new book.
