Ghosts, goblins and witches hanging around

It is that time of year again. I am still only just now putting out my Halloween decorations so am rather late this year. My Halloween tree is standing on a small table by our front door. It is nice to see the lights on the branches from outside the front door or through the glass door in our living room. All the ornaments were made by my mother except the little porcelain jack o' lanterns. The tree top is a witch my mother bought for me in Salem when she went there on vacation.

My scarecrow is sitting very chipper on the edge of the wicker vase for the tree. He is keeping an eye on things for us.

The stack of pumpkins and black cat is a little something I bought back in Ohio and the magnet was a gift from my sister. She used to send a little something at this time of year. As some of you already know, Halloween was my sister's favorite holiday and I now do this tree each year in her memory. I always feel like she is looking over my shoulder as I hang the ornaments. She would, of course, be dressed up to try and scare me too. *grins*

What is it about little fairy lights that give such a special glow. I am glad our days are growing shorter and we can light up our evenings this way.

Do you decorate for Halloween?

Love your Halloween decorations Heidi. We don't decorate here to be honest, although that's not quite true. My daughter is a halloweenbaby so we do have balloons and guirlandes and yes, they do have a halloweentheme ;-)

Well, since I never made myself all of these ornaments, I do not have a halloween tree. I have a few things out and showed them on my blog one day. It looks very cute in your entry hall.
Love you, Mom

I don't decorate for Halloween, but I do for fall it's my favorite time of year. I do mums on the porch, pumpkins, and gourds. I love the cooler nights and the crisp feel of the air. Our leaves have really started to turn in the past two days.
I love your decorations, they are sweet and fun. Do they trick or treat in Holland?

Hello Heidi,

I hadn't really given Halloween a thought until I was walking this morning and saw a garden decorated with gravestones and bones sticking out of the ground!

I do have a few decorations ~ nothing fancy, but I may dig them out this week.

Love those lights and all your decorating, Heidi...it is all so charming! I don't have many fall or Halloween decorations, sadly. I love fall and Halloween decorting. And what few things I have I did sit out last week. Lack of space makes it hard to have many seasonal decorations in storage. Love these Halloween trees that have become popular in recent year. My mom has a mini one--very sweet. Happy Days ((HUGS))

Heidi, I don't really do Halloween and have not even got started on fall decorating
but I did just make a set of your plumpkins. They were so fast and easy - and I think mine are really cute too!

Thank you for sharing yours.

Hi Heidi,
I love your Halloween tree and it's pretty lights! That it's decorated in memory of your sister makes it all the more special. I'm decorating less and less for Halloween but love autumn-themed decor. Have a wonderful week!

What a cute Halloween tree! I love how it lights up. I normally don't decorate for Halloween. My decorations are more "fall" themed.
