Feeling a bit under the weather

"I am sorry to say that Peter was not very well during the evening.

His mother put him to bed, and made some camomile tea; and she gave a dose of it to Peter!

'One table-spoonful to be taken at bed-time.'"

excerpt from "The Tale of Peter Rabbit" by Beatrix Potter

I am sorry to say that I have come a very bad head cold and these things don't combine well with a chronic illness so I am not very active today. I am going to go make another cup of tea and sit on the couch to watch a DVD I think. I only wish my mother was here to make me that cup of tea like Peter Rabbit. Perhaps my Miss Potter DVD will be just the medicine? In the meantime, I wanted to let you know that I have a fun new decorating idea to share with you when I feel well enough to set it up and take the photos. Right now it is looking pitiful as it is only half done. I have every faith that I will feel better tomorrow...

Heidi,
What a shame that feeling unwell in reality is not as cozy and gentle sounding as in Peter's world but, we can try and make it as close as possible by wrapping up with a good book or film, resting and just letting nature take it's course. I hope that you begin to feel better soon. Lots of warm lemon and honey drinks and some yummy homemade soup are what Peter's mother would recommend, I'm certain :>)
Sending healing thoughts and hugs, Angela

Oh my poor liddie girl. I would make you tea if I could. I would even read you a story. Do you have your nice warm shawl on that I bought you for Christmas from Amish Country? I hope so, it might help keep you warm.. It is in the 50's today here, everyone will be sick.
Love you, Mom

I'll be right over to join you on the couch - I woke with a head cold too this morning, my nose is running like a tap!! I DID eat that gigantic chocolate - but cut it in half and made it do for two days!! Guess what though - I have another box, unopened, I'll bring it with me to share!!

Sorry you're feeling lousy Heidi - and wish you back to good health soon. Yes, wish we had our Mums around for tea and sympathy.

This afternoon Bob and I are planning to WALK to the movies (if I feel up to it) and see ATONEMENT. I've been waiting for this one and it has great reviews. Love WW2 stories and this promises to be an excellent show - I'll let you know.

Be well soon - sending good wishes your way.
Hugs - Mary.

I'm so sorry you are sick, but I can't imagine a better dvd to make you feel better. And I'm sure your mom wishes she were there.

hi Aunt Heidi...I haven't been very good at keeping up with blogs lately. Starting a new job has set my schedule all goofy. I have so little time to read them anymore and have been lacking on my posts as well. :o( i'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Hopefully you'll be feeling better soon. Snuggling up with a cup of tea, a big warm blanket and a good movie or book always make me feel better! Love you!

Dear Heidi,
I'm sorry to hear you are feeling under the weather! I hope you got to watch 'Miss Potter' while sipping on a cup or two of tea. It's a wonderful movie, isn't it?!
Thank you for sharing with me (via comment on my blog) about your chronic disc pain, such as my dh has. I'm sorry to hear this is a part of your every day life as well. I will keep you in my prayers!

Hi Heidi. I am sorry to hear that you're not feeling well. I hope a day of rest will help! Don't we all want our mother's when we are sick? Thnaks for all your comments. I am like you and wish everyone would leave one, even just to say hello. I have a counter called sitemeter so I know when someone visits ans where they are from, which is fun.
You're welcome for tea anytime. I usually drink Teltey British Blend, but I like English Breakfast too, so let me know when you are coming and I'll put the kettle on! Wouldn't it be great to actually do that sometime? Who knows? Maybe we will. Look after yourself. Rhondi

Oh dear, Heidi, I am so sorry to learn that you are a not well. But seeing that I am a little late in making this comment I do hope that you are feeling better already. I just love this post with Peter Rabbit in it. And I am still on a lookout for the Miss Potter DVD (I have not seen it for sale anywhere here. And of course I have not tried to buy it online yet...)
