Disaster!

This is me today! I don't have my energy built up at all yet but today was a real test of my endurance.

Yesterday our handyman showed up to install our over, hob and faucet. This morning, I got up and went downstairs only to walk into a puddle of water. I then realized there was a sound of water running. Here a pipe had burst and there was water everywhere. We called the man and he came right over. He found the problem and fixed it. He had a sweeper to sweep the water away. But then I realized that our cupboard under the stairs which is beside the kitchen was also flooded. He was long gone so I had to try and clean that up on my own. What a mess!

So I have my new oven but no energy to use it at the moment.

I think you need to smack that man silly. Holy cow, a brand new faucet, and water, water everywhere. Like you really need this. Hope it dries very soon.
Love you, Mom

Oh Heidi, there are days that really you do want to start over again on a different footing...
You really do not need things like that, hopefully you will feel up to using the oven soon.
Loved the cherries cross stitch in your last post!
Hope things will pick up healthwise soon for you as well, it gets all a bit much now I imagine.
Take care.

I sounds like a long afternoon lunch out is what you need! Or perhaps, a week at the beach??

Heidi,

It's been such a long time since I last wrote any comments here.

so very sorry to hear about this mishap.

Hopefully by the time you read all the comments, you are relieved of these mess. I experienced floods twice in my old house and I just did what I had to do slowly....

How on earth could this have happened??? How utterly awful. Do make sure you have a good soak in the tub and relax! I really hope I will see you tomorrow. That will be just the thing for you: a whole day of stitching and chatting and relaxing.

Much love,
Annemarie.

Hé vreselijk Heidi, trouwens een geweldig bericht van je moeder heb hier luid zitten lachen. Smack that man! Hoe kan hij dat nou doen. Wel een heerlijk soundje de Soggy Bottom Boys, kom helemaal in Country sferen. Ga ik even opschrijven!

It is a terrible cliche to say when it rains it pours...at least plumbing problems feel that way! Hope you are feeling better today. And on the bright side, hopefully your kitchen floor is nice and clean!

Oh dear Heidi,
These things are definitely sent to try us. Hopefully nothing got too spoiled. Things will be okay, just a teeny bit more patience and it will be perfect.
Thinking of you and sending lots of wishy washy wishes or should that be swishy swashy swishes :>)
Hugs Angela

Oh no!

Is there any consolation at all in having possibly the cleanest cupboard and floor in blogdom???
I hope you can take a break in your garden with a nice cup of tea and a favorite project.

Ohhhhhhh Heidi what a heck of a note to have to clean up after all that mess. I hope that you were able to sit down to a nice hot cup of tea and relax once it was done. God has a way of never giving us more then we can handle dosen't he"
I am sitting here looking out my window at the beautifull cardinals and the squirles competeing for the bird seed. It always amazes me what detail there is in nature. Ooops I am getting off subject here sorry. By the way Heidi I love both of your blogs! Thanks so much for all of the time you take to put them together. They are always soooo interesting.

I think I need to come over and help you dear Heidi - I'm no plumber but I'm good at mopping up messes!! Also I can make a good cup of tea and bake for you once the stove is up and running.

So sorry you have been faced with these recent setbacks. Just get well soon............meanwhile have Jos take you to a few nice restaurants perhaps!

Chin up, things WILL get better soon.
Warm hugs - Mary X

Oh man! Nothing worse than water clean up. Maybe in a year it'll be sorta funny but not now. Just rest. Another day to look forward to using that new cooking apparatus. One more day clean, untouched and spanking new.
