Beauty in all things...

Those of you who know me well, know this is my favorite season. I love autumn and it is reflected in my home and my needlework. Many of my quilts are in autumn colors and my living room also. I am inspired all over again each year as this season approaches. Things like finding these toadstools in the wood bed beside our cottage never fail to amaze me of the beauty in all things. We just have to take a moment to look for it.

I hope this weekend, you will take a moment to go out and really look around you. There are so many things in this world around us that we no longer take the time to see. What is it that inspires you? Do you see beauty in all things?

Let me leave you with the words of George Eliot who wrote so eloquently about this time of year:

"Delicious autumn!
My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns."

This picture is perfect! How beautiful the colors are! I hope to get to the top of the park today and get a picture of the tree tops here in Watertown! The trees are all changing and there is a perfect vantage point up there! You have inspired me! :)

These are amazing toadstools Heidi! I keep looking in my yard, but I haven't seen them yet. Do you think Mother Nature forgot to leave them here this year?

we're planning a long walk on Sunday and I'm hoping for a bright crisp Autumnal day. It is the smell of Autumn as much as the sights that inspire at the moment.

Well, I live in town. So there's not a whole lot of nature around me. But, I will try...

What a great find. You have a good eye.

Heidi,
What wonderful colours in those toadstools. They are just the right shape for toads to sit on too :>)
George Eliot is one of my favourite authors. I used to teach her to examination classes many years ago but, once again you surprize me with a quotation I had not come across before. Here's another Autumn quotation I love:
Autumn. The year's last loveliest smile - William C Bryant

Oh I LOVE the quote! If I were a bird I would do the very same thing! It's always amazing to me how kindred spirits connect through words and thoughts across the generations with people we will never meet. Your photo is beautiful. I am inspired by nature all times of year, but there is a certain magic in autumn, my favorite season.
