Welcome to my city garden.....

Hello dear blogging friends! Welcome to my little garden here in the city. Please come in...

I have placed the old pitchfork by the door holding my Home, Sweet Home sign again which some of you might remember from last year. I wish I could find more 'garden junk' to do fun things like this with.

We have seen our daffodils doing wonderfully again this year but they are now finished blooming. We have a pot filled with grape hyacinths and one of Golden Apeldoorn tulips to enjoy yet along with some other spring bloomers...

I am so anxious to see my large wisteria vines in full bloom. Now that the weather has warmed up a bit, it should go quickly. They have just started to open their blossoms. Our beech hedge is filling in so nicely and the two maple trees are so pretty in their fresh new green coats of leaves.

We stayed home this past weekend as Jos wanted to take advantage of the beautiful weather on Saturday to get our gate painted. This gate was especially made for us by a man we found down towards the south of Holland. We are so thrilled with how pretty it has turned out. He told us to let it sit as is for a while in the garden to rust. We installed it while the bathrooms were being renovated. Jos needed help holding it all in place while pouring the concrete. It stayed too cold to paint in so it was very well rusted.

Now the gate is painted a pretty black and puts that just right finishing touch to our 'secret garden'.

We enjoyed the sun rays of this past weekend. Did you also enjoy some sunshine in your part of the world?

Heidi, I am glad I was here to see the change in the gate. Jos did a wonderfil job on it. The flowers are coming up so nicely and it looks great. We had a nice lunch, then coffee in the garden on Sat.
Love you, Mom

what a beautiful garden. The flowers are looking so pretty. I live in Virginia in the US and our blooming season is just about over but it's been wonderful.

I love that gate. And your garden. It looks so relaxing.

Hoi Heidie,

Echt prachtig !
Prettig verblijf in Cranberry Cottage.

Hello Heidi, yes we've had some sunshine here in the Staffordshire Moorlands and also lots of showers in between. What a pretty garden you have and I adore the gate.

Pretty Pretty! We had a lovely weekend here in Canton, despite the weather reports. Now we are back to 50 degrees F. Hopefully our spring will return by the end of the week. Kisses to your mama!

Hello Heidi

I love your secret garden and your gate adds the finishing touch.

I've missed so many of your posts due to the fact that I have been unwell with two viruses since the show in March. I'm finally getting back to blogging.

Your gate looks BEAUTIFUL!!! My compliments for you and Jos, it really looks great.

I just have been to Hoeve De Beek. Of course I forgot to take Sofia's camera (grrr ...), not for the fair, but you had to park in a big field completely covered with dandelions. Such a pretty sight!
I wish you some beautiful days at CC & hugs, Carolien

I wish I could lift the latch, walk through your gorgeous gate, touch the heart sign - which, if you remember, is what brought us together as friends - and then dig in to tea with you and mom!!!

Heidi, all looks lovely, Jos did a great paint job, the flowers are so pretty and it does look like a secret garden.

I'm so frustrated - I cannot load anymore photos, see my post today. Bob thinks I should just quit my blog and spend the time doing other things if it's turning into something so upsetting! But how would I keep in touch, and I love sharing everything with you and all the friends I've made around the world! Hopefully GOOGLE will get to the bottom of this problem soon!

Hope you and mom have a fabulous week. Thinking of you and loved the photo of you and she with your sweet friend Carolien.

Gorgeous photos, Heidi! I am ever hopeful that my 11 year old wisteria will bloom - last year there were exactly two blossoms on it! Your gate looks very pretty.

Heidi, how lovely it all looks. Sadly some of my wisteria was frost bitten and I lost a lot of the flowers. But one branch was untouched so hope the flowers will open soon, if only we had a bit of sun!

Hi Heidi, Thank you for such nice comments!...Just want you to know I am off to the fabric store for white gauze-y fabric to wrap my chandelier in! I must have seen that done somewhere??...so when you suggested it I completely knew what you were describing! Thank you! I will post a photo on my blog as soon as it's done!...Have a great day!...Heidi :)

Well your garden isn't secret any more:) And well that it isn't, so we can enjoy all it's charm and beauty. Isn't spring the most amazing time of year. And your mom is there to enjoy it with you. Sounds as if every one is enjoying the sun and the spring weather. Your gate is beautiful, and the new paint is a perfect contrast.

Hi Heidi,

I am here about the 6 word philosophy of life meme. I got interested in the answers people gave and how it originated. I was able to determine that you tagged Rhondi. I wasn't able to find your answer or who tagged you. Do you mind if i know?

This is my post on it: --

What a lovely city garden you have, Heidi! I just love your garden gate. And all the pretty flowers already in bloom. It must be a lovely place to be in, so enclosed and secluded from the world. I do hope you will continue to enjoy sunshine, we too have been lucky to have had beautiful warm weather lately. It is almost as it spring has suddenly "exploded" all at once, the trees are turning green and all the perennials are vigorously pushing up from the ground. I just love it, and spend most of my day outside, digging and planting; mostly dividing existing perennials, but also making room for more roses. Do enjoy this first of May (are you going to spend the long weekend at Cranberry Cottage?)

Everything looks so very charming and beautiful and peaceful. I am jealous and really waiting for our flowers to bloom here. We have had goofy weather once again. The leaves are just now opening on the trees and so there is now much greenery, but little blooming. My small amount of daffodils are done and then we had a frost. : ( Enjoy your secret garden!!

Heidi,

I came here from "Across the Pond" and just love your photos. I have never thought to plant Muscari in a pot, but I am going to do it this fall and see what happens next spring. They look gorgeous with the yellow tulips. Don't you just love the yellow/blue combo?
