The best made plans...

Thank you all again for your comments on my last entry. I really feel wonderful support from the blogging community. I had made the best of plans but these are laid aside for right now. I was told this morning that I will have to be admitted into the hospital to start the isolation. I wish I could just run away back to home and let my mommy tuck me in. Don't you get those moments? Oh to be a little girl again. Of course, my mother just had her cataract removed in one eye today so we could just lay in bed together and be sick. *grins* I have talked to my mother who is home already and doing great. This procedure had to be done to an eye where she had an earlier emergency procedure done so I was hoping all would go smoothly for her which it has.

Now I am not worried about being alone although the room is going to be like a prison for a short while. I cannot go out and no one can come in. I am not worried about taking the radioactive therapy. What am I worried about? How as an addicted needleworker, I will get through a minimum oftwo days of not being able to stitch or quilt! I am not allowed to take along my needlework as they would have to dispose of it afterwards. I had so hoped I would not even have to be admitted. I had the idea of sitting in our spare bedroom here with my needle and thread, a pot of tea and the DVDs on my laptop.

The doctor says she thinks I should be able to go home sometime in the late morning or early afternoon on Thursday. Please keep your fingers crossed for me that it will be so and not longer? I have to wait until they register a legal amount of radioactive level to be allowed to leave the hospital and the first day it will be too high a dose. I kind of find it amusing that I don't use a microwave as I find the idea of nuking food unappealing. Now I am going to 'be nuked' myself but I know it is for my own good. I have found these first two days of testing easy as I know they are doing their best to make me healthy again.

I will be back again very soon and sharing more of the season and warm thoughts from my home...

Okkkkkkkkk, but not really. I HATE THIS. I wish I could just come over there and make it all go away, or do it for you. It is never easy for a Mom to watch her children do something difficult. You have tons of prayers winging your way. Just get over it very fast and back home again.
I love you sooooooo much.
Hugs and Kisses, Mom

I'm also praying for you, mostly for your recovery and a little that you don't go crazy not being able to stitch :)

Heidi,
I've been reading your blog for a while, enjoying a bit of your life far from my home in Virginia USA and want you to know that I will pray for you and that you will find the peace to just relax and rest while in the hospital. You need to rest for your body to heal and a couple of days won't be so bad. Besides if it is like hospitals here there is some much going on you can't sleep much at night.

Heidi, you're in my prayers and I'm hoping that all goes well and that you're home soon!! I don't think they have any kind of recovery program for addicted needlework people who are forced to go without for a few days, so I'd hate to think what would happen if it lasts too long :)
Sending you comforting hugs,
Joanne

Heidi, I just wanted to leave a hug, as well as my thoughts and prayers. Two days without stitching would be very hard for a veteran stitcher like you! I hope you can take lots of books!

Don't worry Heidi. Microwaves don't brown the meat. You will still look like casper; not Obama! Ha! Ha!

Heidi - how about taking a paperback books/magazines with you that you could throw away at the end of the time? Like you, I would not mind the isolation but I would have to have something in my hands! Lots of love and prayers headed your way!

Hi Heidi, It is good to read you are being so cheerful about your treatment. Keep smiling and the few days will soon pass. I will do some extra stitching here to make up for what you are unable to do. Prayers and thoughts are with you, Jos and Nancy.

Oh Heidi, that is a bit of drudge, but who knows, there could be a silver lining and you might at least get a bit of a rest. Can you take some of your books?
My thoughts are with you and I hope that they will "release" you on Thursday.
Loved the magnetron reference, I so agree with you on that one.
