A light exists in Spring...

What is it about March that sets us off in a light mood wanting to reflect that mood in our homes? Is it the change of smell in the air? Or increasing hours of daylight? Or seeing things outdoors come to life again?

I have been bitten by the decluttering bug and am editing my home from things I have no longer any use for. These items that don't bring a little money in from selling used items online will be donated to the thrift shop in our city. I like knowing there is perhaps someone else than can put these items to good use.

And then I got bitten by the spring decorating bug and am puttering around my home creating lighter and cheerful vignettes.

What a lace tablecloth and a spring floral arrangement can do to your home! I love making flower arrangements that are of the season. I have used freesias and violets with some greenery.

I find this mix of lace, plain glasses with tea lights and flowers in a rusted urn I borrowed from my garden table a pretty mix of textures. They are all things I have in my home so the spring transformation costs me only my own creativity. Do you have items around the house that you can use to say spring?

"A light exists in Spring
Not present in the year

at any other period

When March is scarcely here."

~ Emily Dickinson

The look is really pretty. I just can't think Spring yet. It is in the 30's here and we still need warm coats. Nothing is blooming for us yet.
Love you bunches,
Mom

How pretty, pretty, pretty.

And how wonderful to be bitten by the decluttering bug. Please do send him/her over here. I always want to declutter, but need a new 'bite from the bug' now and then. ,-)

I hope you are feeling well...

Hi Heidi, this is a lovely Spring bouquet and very pretty cloth too. I have bits of Spring and Easter here and there..the flowers and pastel colors just lift my spirit. Hugs, Linda

p.s. I was just being silly about bringing my lily in out of the rain. I usually don't cut just one flower...so I talked myself into cutting it so it won't get wet...:). L.

Heidi,
It's always such a pleasure sharing all the joys of the changing year with you. Your beautiful house welcomes each season with the same generous hospitality and each season repays the welcome with it's own unique gifts :>)

Hi Heidi,
I'm so glad you are feeling like playing in your house. There is nothing like perking up your home with some fresh spring flowers and decluttering always makes me feel like a load has been lifted from me. I can be too much of a pack rat!

Hi, Heidi! I've been "editing" around the house too lately...the last two weeks I've been spring cleaning, de-cluttering, etc. The return special light in March and longer light strikes the heart after a long winter and has us ready and eager along with the green things beginning to grow again outside--it is a splendid time! Hope you are doing well...Happy week ((HUGS))

Dear Heidi,
Your pictures are so pretty! I absolutely love spring. I like to be able to open up the windows and have the front door open to allow the fresh air to blow through my house. It is slowly warming up here. My DH put our furniture on the front porch and deck but I don't think we'll be using it for awhile.

Thank you for coming by to visit me. I'm glad the kitties made you smile!

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Dear Heidi,
As usual you have graced my day with light and peace. I'm always amazed at how the most simple things can create a profound change. You have a well of creativity, it's always a pleasure to stop by and see what you have been up to.
Oh and I have to say I'm adicted to totes for my projects. I'm thinking it's just an excuse to have them :)

Hi Heidi - I hope that you are feeling well. Thanks for sharing the wonderful ideas. You are so very clever. It must be the season - I'm getting rid of things that I don't use also. We now have more daylight than darkness - wonderful.

Thank you so much for visiting me! You see, I once popped into your blog and found the wonderful quotation at the bottom of your page, but then I could not remember where I had found it! Your blog is so wonderful, I think we have a lot of interests in common. If you go into my blog I have something there for you.

Hi Heidi,
I'm thinking you must be feeling at least a bit better if you've been as busy as a bee decluttering. I just love your first photo. The flowers are gorgeous against the beautiful lace tablecloth.

I hope you continue to feel better.

Hugs,
Kim

Dear Heidi, I love your blog. I love your home. It is a warm place to be. The poem by Emily Dickinson touched me. She was a school mate of Esther Howland who's Valentines I collect. I shall copy it and include it in my Valentine collection. They were great ladies.
Hope you are well.

I wish the de-cluttering bug would bite me! My parents are coming to stay in less than two weeks, so the big spare room will have to cease being a storage room and return to bedroom status. I see a trip to the thrift store in my near future!

PS The word verification is.......packer! Hmmmm I hope that this computer isn't implying that I am a packrat!

Hello dear Heidi
The flowers on your table say SPRING in capital letter! I too am wanting to declutter. I'm thinking about having a yard sale but don't know if I have the nergy for it! Today is a rainy Saturday and I am being very lazy!
Hugs,
Rhondi
