Some festive cheer in our house...

I have decorated our bedroom a little. Just a few items placed here and there to give us a feeling of festive cheer. Do you remember the quilt I had made for our bed? I simply turned it over to use the backside of the quilt which is a white with roses motif. I thought it looked more in keeping with the Christmas theme.

I then removed the others pillows and used only one that also worked with the colors.

My small tree with lace ornaments is sitting up on our chest of drawers this year. I decided it would be fun to have a tree in the bedroom.

I hung two small wreaths that I had used for a Christmas tea table decoration on each door of the armoire. I then draped a string of berries along the top and put a string of star lights and pinecone garland in the birdcage. It is very simple but I think it looked very pretty.

Finally I changed the quilt on the rack to a red and white Ohio Star quilt and hung our stockings beside it.

I will be taking a little blogger's break this week as we are going to Brugge, Belgium tomorrow morning. We love going and always try to go in December to see the city decorated for the holidays. Sorry I have not been able to visit all of your blogs lately. My days are filled with finishing a special gift for a dear friend and it is cutting into my computer time. I do hope to catch up with everyone very soon!

That is a very festive room now.
Are you sure you want to go to Brugge and leave it now? Thats ok, Dagi will enjoy it while you are gone, but look out when you get home. You will be told off.

Wat mooi allemaal weer! En wie heeft die mooie sprei gehaakt? Ik ben een heel klein beetje jaloers... Jammer dat ik je mooie kantsterren nu niet van dichtbij kan bewonderen. Heel veel plezier in Brugge.

Heidi, your bedroom looks beautiful! Thank you so much for your lovely comments on my Christmas decorating. As you will see when you have a chance to visit my blog, my tree is up in the living room although we won't get our real tree until later this week.

There was another Road to Avonlea reunion this past July that we attended. Many of the filming sites for RTA & Anne of Green Gables are in the Toronto area and because I love historic homes, I've visited them all for as long as I can remember. A fourth Anne of Green Gables movie will be seen sometime in 2008. This one is a prequel and while it's not true to the story, the scenery should be lovely. (I'm not a fan of movies that digress so far from the book but .... )

Anyways, I've rambled on far too long! Have a lovely time in Brugge! I look forward to seeing your photos and reading all about it. ~ hugs, Lynda xo

Such a pretty place at Christmas, your room is no exception. I bet you have sugar plums dancing in your head sleeping there. I like to decorate every room when I can. I think your tree is cozy, and your quilts are beautiful. Such peace and tranquility seem to eminate from your pictures.

Everything looks gorgeous Heidi! What a nice holiday atmosphere in your room. Your lace tree is breathtaking, and I still can't believe you make the lace - incredible. Isn't it pretty how your samplers reflect in your mirror. Enjoy your trip!

Have a fabulous trip to Belgium Heidi - I know the Brugge decorations will be lovely.

Meanwhile thanks for all your recent commentsto me, and thank you so much for leaving a sweet comment for Deborah on the death of her Mother. I loved how you described to me your closeness to your Mom - it comes across clearly every day when I read your banter between one another - I hope to meet you both some day!

Today I love what you are showing around the house - the tree with the lace ornaments is fabulous, and I just know you put hours of work into each one. Are those your lace samplers in the background? This tree is just perfect in your bedroom, and that quilt is lovely for Christmas.

Been stuck at the Grand Jury all day but this was my last time, the 6 mths. are up, yippee! It hit 81 degrees today and will be warm all week - I'd much prefer a chill in the air for the Holidays.

Come home safely - will be looking forward to hearing about the trip. Have fun.
Hugs - Mary.

p.s. my studio is on hold for now....we are thinking about selling our house - so if we do, I don't want to do all of that work and then leave it....

Your bedroom looks lovely and the wreaths on the doors is a cute idea along with that sweet little tree.

Hope you have a wonderful trip and can share some pics when you get back.

This time of year I'm finding it hard to keep up with the blogs myself.

Your bedroom looks like something at a "Bed and Breakfast" with that pretty lace decorated tree and your trimmings. I love it!

Your kitty also looks to be enjoying the decor... hope kitty doesn't climb your tree the way mine used to!

Heidi your room looks beautiful, so inviting and cosy - lovely! Would you believe I have taken the very rash and stupid decision to paint one of the rooms downstairs! So instead of decorating the tree etc, I'm covered in paint!! Why oh why ...? Hope you have a lovely time in Bruge.

The room looks positively festive and comfortable at the same time...it is so cozy and well done. I love the armoire, it is my favorite! Your hanging quilt is gorgeous and who would have thought the flip-side of your quilt would be so appropriate and gorgeous, too!
Nice job!!
