'Tis the season...

Deck the halls with boughs of holly...fa lalalala lala la la...

I just finished my very last chocolate Bourbon cookie as I sit here to write to you. What a depressing thought! I love this little cookies from England and whenever my husband is there on business, he makes a trip to the grocery store for me for, among other goodies, these yummy cookies.

'Tis the season to be jolly...fa lalalala lala la la...

I have started on my Christmas decorating. My upstairs hall is a mess and you can barely walk there past the boxes which are open and overflowing with festive fare. I have covered my dining table in items and not sure I will ever find the top of the table again. But that being said, my end tables are both decorated and festive looking. My sidetable greets you as you come into the living room. It will start to come together slowly now and I will soon start on my Christmas tree.

Don we now our gay apparal...fa lalalala lala la la...

This is the end table beside my leather chair where I sit to stitch, quilt or read. This chair is beside the woodstove where I can spend my evenings toasty warm while I work or read. There is great task lighting that is not pretty but very functional. It seems as soon as I put my feet up on the ottoman, my cat is right there to sit on my lap. He must have a radar built in as he loves to lay on your lap if your feet are up.

Even though I need space on this table to set my scissors, needle and thread, I like having it looking pretty too. This is the 1993 Christmas Angel from Lavender and Lace which you can find free on the website: http://www.tiag.com/. She is standing on a small quilt I made about 12 years ago. The gold angel was a gift from my mother and the little tin is from a German shop. The bowl with holly is handmade by a lady who creates items using bobbin lace as a theme. This bowl was made with her hand painted holly leaves and lace bobbins. I love this little bowl and place a holly and berry candle ring in it. Simple but effective.

Are you starting on your decorations?

Oh that cookies looks yummy!

Your table is beautiful Heidi! I love everything you have on it. Your L&L angel is so pretty, and it looks like you have added some beads which are a very nice touch.

I love your bowl! This woman doesn't by any chance sell online, does she?

Beautiful decorating as always!

Heidi what a beautiful table setting. I'm with you and like things to look pretty, even if it's in my way a bit. I can always move things if I need to once in awhile. Thanks for sharing and I would love a bite of that cookie, LOL.

Oh Heidi, chocolate bourbons bring back memories of childhood for me. On the rare occasions my Mum bought biscuits, she often chose these.

I love your Christmas decorations. I will be back soon to see more. I have linked to your blog via Dreaming of Wild Roses.

Have a great weekend.

Your decorated table really rings in the festive season...ding dong merrily on highhhh tra la..can you hear me warbling..hahaha!
I have fallen in love with your little gold angel. It's got such a sweet little face. I enlarged your picture and, as usual, scrutinized every pixel :>)The bowl and arrangment are absolutely gorgeous and your quilt sets it all off. I love those little L&L angels. I think they have stopped doing them now...shame.
Hugs, Angela

Oh yes! Chocolate Bourbon biscuits - another English childhood memory for me too - I loved them and always forget to buy some when home.

Heidi you're way ahead of me with the decorating - I pulled a lot out of the attic before leaving for the mountains but, since returning yesterday, I've done little other than sort through boxes deciding on what to use this year. Your tablescape is just delightful - love the angel and your mini quilt. Can't wait to see the rest of your Christmas season treasures.

Tomorrow morning I will start decorating - after I plant tulip bulbs and the pansies bought today for the mailbox bed down by the street.

We went to the tree lighting tonight - with ice skating show(do you know it can be done without real ice now?), opera company singing carols, Santa's arrival, and manmade snow gently fell over all!

.......it's beginning to look and feel and lot like Christmas.....

I yelled at my dad for you about not visiting your blog. We have just started our decorations today. Usually we start the Friday after Thanksgiving, however, we were hosting a surprise party at our house on Saturday, so we held off until today. This year it's fun decorating, because Lily can help!

It's exciting when all the decorations come out isn't it Heidi? We leave ours until the two weeks before Christmas and when we put the tree up at the same time. Your house is looking lovely already!

If you leave me your address I'll get some of those chocolate bourbons sent to you. We can't have you celebrating without a chocolate bourbon in the house!
