Where has winter gone???

O, wind,
If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?

~~ Percy Bysshe Shelley

Is it climate change or just the natural courses of Mother Nature. There are many conflicting ideas about what is happening with our seasons. Some weather men say this abnormal weather does happen once in a while if you review history. I named this blog for my love of the seasons. As I look outside my window, it feels more like spring starting than midwinter. Our bulbs are coming up too early. Even the wild geranuims are starting to sprout their tender first leaves. We will have to start doing our 'end of winter' garden preparations now instead of the normal end of February. I wonder if February will still bring us winter? It just may be that Mother Nature holds some surprises in store for us. At any rate, looking at a Thomas Kinkade painting gives me the feeling that winter is here and I will hold that in my heart for now.

Is it winter in your part of the world? Tell me about how things look out your window today.....I would love to hear from you.

Hello Heidi,

We now have a chill in the air and a little wind. Only one and a half hours away they had snow yesterday! Winter is not gone - just getting a slow start in this part of the world.

I just popped over after reading my friend Clarice's blog.
I recognized dutch skates on your photo. I have similar skates hanging up outside on my front porch, also from Holland (they were my husband's)
You have a lovely blog with great decorating ideas.
Keep up the good work!
Were you born in Holland? You seem to do so well with your English!
Thanks for the peek and btw, the ground here in Ontario is covered with pretty, clean, freshly-fallen snow!...a winter wonderland!

Nice to 'meet' you Joanne! Thanks for your comments on the blog. I am originally from the US but immigrated to Holland over 20 years ago when I met my Dutch DH. I hope you will visit more often.

There's no snow here either and until yesterday, the weather has been very spring-like. I've got bulbs and buds coming out months too early. I'm kind of enjoying the lack of snow though ... I don't have to worry about driving!

No snow in eastern Nebraska today! Temps will hit 50 this afternoon, then tomorrow, winter will come back. Perhaps by the weekend it will snow...
