Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope today your thoughts will turn towards things like...

Wine! Okay I took liberties with this photos as it is grapes yet hanging on the vine from a vacation photo of one of our favorite destinations in France ~ The Alsace. It will be wine eventually...grins...

Chocolate! I am dreaming of the wonderful chocolate shops in Brugge, Belgium where you have two feasts ~ one for the eye as you choose your chocolates from the pretty displays and one as you enjoy later perhaps with a cup of cafe au lait.

Roses! For me, not the traditional red rose but the Edith Holden rose that bloomed last summer in my garden.

And speaking of gardens...did you know that Valentine's Day is the day that birds choose their mate? So I leave today to ponder on the thought that spring is coming and this sweet verse...

"Must, bid the Morn awake!
Sad Winter now declines,
Each bird doth choose a mate;
This day's Saint Valentine's.
For that good bishop's sake
Get up and let us see
What beauty it shall be
That Fortune us assigns."

~ Michael Drayton

Happy Valentine's Day to all my friends.
You all mean so much to me!

Happy Valentines day!
Nice to see that you love our Belgian Chocolates! One of these days you should come and visit Antwerp. I know all the greatest chocolate shops there.

Funny thing, the word verification is this time a REAL word: license. I love it when that happens.
Be loved and blessed

Happy Valentine's Day to you too, Heidi. I'll spend the day working, as it is the annual Volunteer Fair over here and I have to set up a booth. The Great Dane and I celebrated last night, with a really good bottle of wine, a delicious dinner and a good movie......overseen by a gorgeous bouquet of roses. Bliss.....

Love, love, love the Chet Baker! Have you ever heard Matt Damon do it in The Talented Mr. Ripley movie and on the soundtrack? He does a really good job, much in the style of Mr. B.

Ok, come over here and tell Ohio that winter now declines. I don't think we know it here. Snow is predicted again but maybe not here. I hope not.
Have a Happy Valentine dinner, since it is almost dinner time there.
Love you, Mom

Dear Heidi!
We are so similar you and me!!
Wine-districts, chocolate in Brugge....roses!! - The rose reminds me of mine - Westerland - not easy to compare name of roses, when the name changes from country to country. No I am not at the mountain yet - we had to go to the veterinary with Birk last evening - he had an injury, we think...at the cofeetable in the livingroom, - had to take an x-ray of his right back foot. So he is limping - thank God nothing broken, - and through the evening - my head, nose and throat startet to play games with me...I felt asleep and I feel like I`m runned over by a truck... - BUT - now I am sitting here trying to do a lot of paperwork for my job, so I can pack the car and go to the cottage tomorrow. I hope....
Shit! I was so waiting for this week to the cottage!! I NEED IT!!
Take care! - hope you had a nice Valentines day! - this is something "new" in Norway - and my husband is not very romantic... - so ...well....

Hi Heidi,
I have gotten behind in my blog reading, especially yours because I like to take my time and savor your entries. My mouth is watering over that chocolate. I love chocolate. My sweetie doesn't give me much chocolate because I do Weight Watchers and he tries to help me be good. So I gave him chocolate with the hope that he will share!

Ah, wine and chocolate, wonderful! I love the vineyards in France - my parents are retiring there next year so I hope to see much more of French wines and also French chocolates!
